This digital unit automatically determines the melting point of chemical substances. A built-in camera continuously captures real-time images of the samples; digital image processing determines when melting occurs. Intuitive setup menu and front-panel touch screen make operation quick and easy; simply select the start temperature, remp reate, stop temperature, and press start. PID-controlled temperature ramping provides an extremely linear increase in temperature. Audible and visual alarms indicate temperature stabilization, end of melt, and temperature outside of low/high limits that are user selected. Analyze up to three samples simultaneously.

View graphical data of the melting event on the front-panel display, or display real-time, high-resolution images of your samples by connecting the unit to a PC through the USB connection. Included MeltView software allows you to play back a melting event as a continuous movie or view it frame-by-frame for detailed analysis. Print out a hard copy of text and graphs using the RS-232 port and the optional printer (sold seperately). Printouts include technician identification and space for a signature.

For samples that melt in a unique way, such as samples that explode, boil away, or bubble up the tube, a wide observation window with a illuminated magnification lens allows manual observation of melting point.

Additional features include three user-configurable timers that can be used when the instrument is not needed for melting point determinations, and an external RTD input (2-, 3-, or 4-wire 100ΩPt) to use the unit as a thermometer when not in use for melting point.
