Mills

The lab grinding mill is essential to grind, pulverize, and chop samples for routine analysis. Which lab grinding mill to use depends on factors such as type of sample, sample capacity, and desired particle size. One of the most popular types of a lab grinding mill is a jar mill. This tool is an excellent alternative to grind virtually any type of sample. When filling the jar volume, a good guideline to follow is 1/3 of the volume for sample, 1/3 of the volume for grinding balls, and 1/3 of the volume for free space to allow free movement of the balls. Whether soft or hard brittle or fibrous sample material, a jar mill can final particle sizes of about 5 micrometers. Jar mills also require separate purchase of jars and grinding media. Analytical and hand mills are ideal for hard and brittle samples. Use these laboratory grinder mills to prepare such samples as soil, frozen food, dried vegetation, and others. Final particle size can range from 1 to 205 micrometers and really depends on the analytical mill used. For other applications, look for a specialized lab grinding mill such as bead mills (for cell and tissue culture preparation), or grind and plate mills.

Static Mixers: installed inline and mix fluids as you pump them through a pipeline. The fluid moves through the mixer in an alternating clockwise/ counterclockwise motion to ensure a homogeneous product. They are virtually maintenance free and need no spare parts.
