        A:

        The OD will have a slight taper and will be approximately 0.155" at the smallest point and 0.170" at the largest. This will have a luer lock connection on the tip. The material of construction is poly-carbonate. We do not have any data on the compatibility with inks or oil based inks. This will be compatible with some oils but not compatible with mineral spirits.         We do not make a disposable plastic syringe that is compatible with hexane. The glass or stainless steel syringes would be a compatible option. Please see part numbers 25701-00 for a glass and 74044-36 for a stainless steel, similar size, syringe.

        We do not have chemical compatibility data between the dye and the PP or black latex free elastomer portion of these syringes. I can only suggest requesting a sample to test if they will work for your needs.

      what materials are the syringes made of? It says polypropylene but is that referring just to the outer housing or all the components? for instance, what is the black part that makes the seal and does the pushing made of? I need to know if I can use the syringe with organic solvents, so if you can tell me all the materials, that would be great.

        A:

        The black "stopper" is a black-latex free elastomer, all other parts are polypropylene and have a silicone lubricant coating. We do not suggest using disposable or plastic syringes for organic solvents. 07939-86, 25701-00 or 25701-01 may be more appropriate.

        This isn't considered a gas tight syringe. For our largest gas tight syringe please see part number 07939-86. The materials of construction are made for low permeability and it is constructed for such use.
