    • Q:

Can C-Flex tubing be used in peristaltic pumps? If so what is the lifetime
      Asked on 7/19/2012 by Jason

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

Yes, C-Flex is soft enough to be used in peristaltic pumps. The life is similar to standard platinum-cured and peroxide-cured silicone compositions - about 500 hours at 50 rpm with water under ambient temperature and pressure conditions. This is the only rpm and temp/pressure data we have for life studies.

    • Q:

Is this product's gas permeability lower than silicone tubing? I want to use this in a pressurized system (the medium is air).
Asked on 6/13/2011 by KT from Dallas, Tx

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

The oxygen gas permeability is 150 for all C-Flex compositions. Most silicone compositions have a permeability around 8000. So, yes C-Flex has a lower oxygen permeability by far.

    • Q:

Do you have an literature that contains the following information: Whether or not the product is autoclavable, pressure test info and animal derived info.
      Asked on 6/30/2010 by Anonymous

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

On the right hand side of the page under the literature is the catalog page. This states that it is autoclavable and lists the pressure information. We do have animal derived documentation, however you will need to contact us in order to receive a copy of this certification.
Our contact information is found under the Contact Us section on our website.
