Our lab has 25 of the now unavailable Digisense (EW-89000-10) and after 8 years one finally died on us. I ordered this new replacement and was nothing but frustrated with the entire experience. This model requires a software upgrade, which could only be done by sending the brand new unit back to the vendor. I could not hold my reactions at any temperature. The controller did not slow down the heating rate as the desired temperature was approached and overshot every time. It took me three phone calls to the vendor, and only when I asked to speak with the manager did I learn that the software installed in the system would not perform as intended. I finally gave up and returned the unit. Why purchase something that is not ready to set up and use upon arrival?I'm still looking for a suitable replacement to our other Digisense controllers. Those never gave us problems!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The new model which replace the previous Excellent Digi sense Temperature controllers are very poor in quality. After ordering two the software was not working properly and they did not recall these which still in the market 1.4.7. One of the replacements triggered the GFCI and made an electrical mess, one of the computers connected to same outlet was damaged. The two sent replacements over shut around 10F, so if I want 100F, I must place 85F to control the temperature. The manual does not describe the reason of each control. Just how to change it and also the actual menu does not correlate to the paper menu. They are 2 or 3 items that you can change but they don't appears at the SOP. OVERALL...if I found other replacement, I will discharge these one and. pass the voice in my company.
