These heavy-duty insulated heating tapes have a high-temperature yarn double braided over strands of resistance wires. Two of these elements are knitted together, then covered with a braided material to form an insulated flat tape. 120 VAC tapes have a standard, inseparable two-prong plug at one end for a quick and direct connection to a temperature or power controller. Shpg wt for 2 to 6 feet tapes is 1 lb (0.5 kg); shpg wt for 8 to 12 feet is 3 lb (1.4 kg).
