  • Ensure optimal performance from your Masterflex® pump
  • Greater physical compression capability
  • Economical, longer tubing life
Applications: Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, peristaltic pumping, and food applications.
Characteristics: Excellent heat resistance, low compression set, odorless, nontoxic. Translucent.

Masterflex® L/S® pump tubing is manufactured to extremely close tolerances that match our L/S® pump heads, ensuring accurate, repeatable flow and long tubing life. Our pump tubing is factory-tested and optically inspected to provide the best performance from your peristaltic pump.
Flow ranges are approximate—calculated under the following conditions: 0 psig at inlet, 0.5 psig at outlet; water temperature at 72°F (22°C). Actual performance varies depending on tubing formulation—silicone and C-Flex are only recommended for applications with 10 psig (0.7 bar) backpressure or less.

  • Q:

what is the difference between peroxide and platinum cured silicone tubing?
Asked on 5/29/2014 by Mike from Claremont, CA

      A:

The difference is in the manufacturing process, specifically the curing process, hence the name differences. Peroxide cured silicones, while less translucent, tend to have lower spallation tendencies and better pump life. Platinum cured products offer ultra-high purity characteristics with extremely low extractables and leachables. The physical and performance differences will not be extreme but they do differ slightly.

  • Q:

based on your website's tubing selection guide, silicone tubing is not very resistant to strong and weak acid, but your catalog book stated good resistance to both acids. which source should I trust? I am using this tubing for 5% H2SO4, and I found demage on the tubing. is C-flex better choice?

      A:

Chemical is not based on the pH; I do not suggest looking into broad information and generalizations for chemical compatibility. Using our tubing chemical compatibility chart, I see we do not recommend silicone for even the most dilute hydrochloric acid solutions. At dilute levels, however, all other compositions have an excellent rating. C-Flex is compatible with even concentrated H2SO4, so that will be a better choice.
