    • Q:

Is the EW-06258-10 filling/venting cap available with 1/8" tube connectors instead?
      Asked on 2/27/2013 by Michelle

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

No, this the is only size offered for the 53B cap size. If possible a small segment of 1/4" ID tubing and a reducing fitting can be used to obtain a 1/8" connection. For example, fitting 41518-36 could be used and you may request a sample of 1/4" platinum-cured silicone tubing using part number 00074CQ.

    • Q:

What are the size openings in the cap (for the 2 ports and the venting hole)? I'm trying to determine if some of the fittings we have on hand will be compatible.

    • Q:

Is the cap capable of being used in a vacuum application, specifically as a suction canister?
      Asked on 9/16/2011 by Anonymous

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

It was not designed for vacuum use but in low vacuum applications it will work. But it does not hold a high vacuum.

    • Q:

Whats is the size of 53B in mm? I'm looking for a 500ml bottle to fit this size of cap. Can you suggest a suitable bottle please?
Asked on 4/8/2011 by Ross from England UK

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

53B is a cap size and buttress thread type so a bottle would have to have a 53B thread size/diameter. Unfortunately, Nalgene does not make a 500ml bottle that accepts a 53B cap. They do have a 250ml bottle, that is part 06257-05, and a 1liter size, 06257-10.

    • Q:

If the cap were to be in place on a tool would you have to spin the bottle or can you tighten the cap while the hoses stay stationary?
      Thanks,
Asked on 3/24/2011 by Tres from Dallas, TX

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

If you were to place this cap in-line in your assembly, connecting tubing to the hosebarbs, you would not be able to rotate the cap without twisting tubing lines. To thread the cap onto the bottle or remove the bottle from the cap one would either need to remove the tubing from the hosebarbs or spin the bottle.
