Honoring Motion Pictures with a Reel of Our Own

Imagine a world without movies: no Star Wars or Forrest Gump or Casablanca. Imagine never watching Indiana Jones or Captain Jack Sparrow or Jason Bourne. When you think of all the films produced in the last 122 years—those that made us think or laugh or just simply intrigued us—we owe a standing ovation to one innovator in particular. On October 6, 1889, Thomas Edison showed the first motion picture and, in doing so, created a channel of influence that permeates nearly every area of our lives.

From the big screen to the small screen, we look to moving pictures for new perspectives, entertainment, and even education. In scientific circles, we use videos to show processes, demonstrate products, and even illuminate research.

Cole-Parmer is busy adding titles to our video library as well. Our latest showcases the Masterflex® L/S® Analog Console Drive. If you’re wondering if this is the right peristaltic pump for your application, this video will answer many of your questions. Also available for viewing: the recent InnoCal® Metrology Lab Tour and several instructional “how-to” videos. Though they are not necessarily epics ala Braveheart, but they may make your job easier.
