Q: Vantage pro2 wireless says it will transmit up to 1000'(line of sight). I want to install it on the roof (two story house)and have the reciever directly below in ground floor of house (wood frame w/Vinal siding). Will signal be OK? Presently own a caable system which does not work anymore. (Ten years old). Asked on 10/12/2009 by Old Timer from Ferndale, WA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Obstructions such as houses and dense trees can reduce the transmission distance by as much as 2/3, to about 300’. The omni-directional antenna radiates in every direction in a globular pattern, so locating the ISS transmitter on the roof above the console will work. Q: If I simply input field elevation into the Vantage Pro2 (6152) will it display correct local altimeter setting (in inches of mercury) for aircraft flying into that location? Asked on 7/14/2009 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Setting the field elevation is the first step in the process. After setting the elevation you must set the value of barometric pressure to match that of a calibrated primary standard, i.e. a mercury barometer. Barometric readings can be displayed in inches of mercury (in), millibars (mb) or millimeters of mercury (mm). See pages 19 and 26 in the console manual for instructions. Q: Good day,
My vantage pro2 system has lost the outside temerature signal from the wireless station. I have replaced the batteries and the problem continues. Just prior to signal loss, the outside temerature registered -90. Asked on 6/17/2009 by Anonymous from Homestead Florida Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The range of the temperature sensor is -40 to 140 degF. Beginning on page 34 of your Vantage Pro2 Console Manual, follow the directions to verify reception of the temperature signal; you may need to reset the console from setup mode (page 9). If you cannot reset the temp sensor signal, call Davis technical support at 510-732-9229 for assistance. Answered on 6/19/2009 by Jon from Staff Expert
