The Long and Short (Shaft) of Masterflex® Pump Heads

Masterflex I/P® and L/S® Standard, Easy-Load®, and L/S® Easy-Load® II pump heads are available with long or short shafts.

So, which pump head should you use? The answer: Use short-shaft pump heads for any relatively new Masterflex drive (generally, drives produced after 1990). Long-shaft pump heads should be used with hand pumps and for certain older model Masterflex drives made prior to the 1990s.

When in doubt, simply call 1-800-MASTERFLEX and one of our Application Specialists will help you select the correct pump head. For OEM use, contact Barnant Company, our OEM manufacturing division, at 1-800-637-3739 and press 4 or e-mail them at oem@barnant.com.
