Are your employees protected from the Flu?

coronavirus prevention

An ounce of prevention goes a long way

It is flu season. Are you prepared? Many organizations offer flu vaccines for their employees. Others provide hand sanitizer and allow employees to work from home when they are feeling sick. There are many ways to add a few measures so your workplace remains healthy this time of year.

Prevention

An ounce of prevention goes a long way. You can take a few simple measures to help prevent the spread of the seasonal flu in your organization. Encourage employees to keep their hands clean by washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using disinfectant wipes when water is not available. If someone is coughing, itis a good idea to have them wear a mask to keep their germs at bay. Visit the websites of the health organizations in your region for preventive information.

Information from health organizations

Leading the effort to provide us with the most up-to-date information is WHO. Along with this organization, you can find useful information on the flu from the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health Canada, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and many others.

These organizations provide information on flu prevention. All encourage you to use good hand and respiratory hygiene, stay away from others who are sick, stay home if you are sick or work from home if possible.

What else can you do?

In addition to encouraging good hygiene habits, asking employees to stay home when sick and restricting travel, you can equip everyone with safety products such as goggles, face shields, face masks, and gloves, and cleaning solutions.
