Here are a few tips:<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Upgrade your electrical distribution system<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Run equipment during \u201coff peak\u201d times as much as possible<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Turn off equipment when not in use<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Run at higher voltages where possible<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 For pump applications, regulate flow via motor rpm instead of artificial back pressure or bypass<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Motor Types<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DC Motors <\/strong>are used in a variety of variable-speed applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Air Motors <\/strong>are inherently intrinsically safe due to lack of electrical power. However, air motors are not as efficient as electric motors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AC Motors <\/strong>come in two versions\u2014single and three-phase powered. Single-phase power is available in residential and commercial locations, and is suitable for fixed-speed applications. Three-phase power lets you get variable-speed control with an appropriate controller.
