After eight years of fielding technical support calls, Jon has answered thousands of calls. Yet, his technical expertise to suggest a potential new solution to NASA is a mountaintop experience.<\/p>\n<p>Jon developed his abilities through a series of positions as a field service technician, sales engineer, and instrument technician, among others. Armed with a degree in chemistry, Jon began his career by serving four years in the Navy as a fire control technician. After that, he worked for manufacturers, an R&amp;D lab, and a telecommunications company. Eventually, he found his niche helping customers at Cole-Parmer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy strength is translating technical information into plain English,\u201d said Jon. \u201cI can capture ideas from other disciplines and apply them in unexpected ways. This helps solve what can be a difficult issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because he previously worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coleparmer.com\/Category\/Chromatography_Products\/378?referred_id=5618\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow noopener noreferrer\">chromatography<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coleparmer.com\/Category\/Spectroscopy_and_Spectrophotometers\/5460?referred_id=5618\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow noopener noreferrer\">spectroscopy<\/a> products, these are Jon\u2019s specialties along with process controls and weather stations.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, it all comes down to what Jon calls the thrill of the hunt\u2014finding products and solutions that aren\u2019t necessarily obvious. \u201cYour challenges are the most fun,\u201d he said. \u201cBring them on!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Have a challenge we can help with?
