More About this Item
The Cole-Parmer benchtop box furnaces heat up to 1200 °C (2192 °F) with excellent temperature uniformity. The furnaces feature a 4.3" color SmartControl touchscreen interface that is easy to use. Select to configure using "slide nav" finger icon navigation (similar to smartphones or tablets) or as a drop-down menu. The display splits into two sections—the icon bar and main display area. The icon bar (always visible) provides one touch selection of the menu, help, home, alarm icons, date/time, etc. View loop information with configurable tag names, active PV, SP & PID % values, on the main display area.
The box furnaces feature vacuum-formed ceramic fiber heating elements with free radiating wire embedded into the body of the heater to ensure rapid heat up, excellent temperature uniformity, and quick cooldown. These durable furnaces provide a long service life but are designed so the furnace chamber, heating elements, hearth plate, and chamber threshold can easily be replaced if they become worn out.
Safety features include a hinged vertical lift door that keeps the hot door insulation away from the operator; a door safety switch interrupts power to the heating elements when the door is opened. The air gap between the heated chamber exterior and the furnace exterior surface minimizes the furnace exterior surface temperature, ensuring operator safety.
Note: Continuous operating temperature is 100°C below maximum temperature.
