Comments about Cole-Parmer Stopcocks with Luer Connections; 1-way; male slip, Non-sterile:

This is a well made stopcock. It's very durable. Only issue is that the plastic turn valve, when closed, is too large/wide for our use so we have to angle it which is a little awkward. Doesn't need to be that wide of a handle to serve it's purpose. Other than that it's great.

    • Q:

What is the outer diameter of the male slip? Will it fit into a 0.170" ID (1/4" OD) tubing?
      Asked on 8/5/2014 by Liz

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

Luer connections are standardized so that a male luer will fit into its female counterpart. It is tapered so the outer diameter changes throughout the end.We do offer an adapter that will convert the male luer to a 3/16" hose barb. See part number: 45501-08.

Whats the volume of the internal tubing of the stopcock (model 30600-01)
Asked on 2/1/2011 by Matthew from Massey Uni, New Zealand

        A:

The internal diameter is about 0.077 inch and the total length is 1.7 inches. Since we do not have specific data, I determined the internal volume by using the equation for the volume of a cylinder. I estimate the internal volume to be about 150 uL.
