          What is the temerpature stability at the hot plate surface, ie. does it fluctuate +/- 5 degrees F or 20 degrees F?

            A:

            This unit only has a 0-10 dial for controling the temperature.

            The temperature is regulated at the temperature sensor, which is usually located directly under the top plate. Therefore the temperature on the surface of the plate is usually higher then temperature on the surface.

            Any accuracy will be of the sensor and not the top plate. The temperature of the surface plate depends on the enviromental or room conditions.

            If maintaining a temperature on the hot plate surface is very critical then we recomend using an external temperature probe that hooks into the hotplate (creating a temperature feedback loop). Many of our digital hotplate models offer this as an option such as 86576-20.
