These infrared thermometers are extremely easy to use: just aim, pull the trigger, and read the display. The backlit display shows temperature readings in °F or °C; low-battery indication; and hold, scan, and max. Display holds for seven seconds. Under range and over-range conditions are also indicated on the display.

Fluke models 566 and 568 offer additional features including an innovative graphical display, adjustable emissivity through an easily selectable built-in material table , type K thermocouple input, datalogging, multiple language interface, two backlighting levels, and a rubberized housing that improve resistance to shock, damage, water, and dust. These meters also indicate min/max, dif, avg, two color flashing with audio high and low alarms, probe, log, and recall. The 568Ex is Intrinsically safe and has built in data logging up to 99 data points.
