More About this Item

Choose an indicator for %RH measurement only, %RH and °>F measurements, or %RH, °>F and °>C measurements. All models have a cellulose RH sensor that measures relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH. Thermohygrometers feature a bimetallic temperature sensor.
Models 03310-20 and 03310-40 include a test certificate ensuring conformance to stated specifications. All indicators have a solid brass case, a 5" diameter glass face, and predrilled holes for wall mounting.

I have a customer who is using the Cole-Parmer 3310-40. He wants to know if there is a indicator just like the 3310-40, but goes over 200 deg.

This is designed to measure a room so there are none available that go over 170F (76C)

  • Q:

How or What is the life of the instrument?
Asked on 1/7/2013 by Arnulfo from Mexico

The warranty on the indicator is good for one year. We do not have more specific life expectancy data.
You can test a hygrometer's accuracy in two common ways:

      1. Wrap a damp cloth on the back of the hygrometer for 6 hours. The indicator should then read approx. 95%. If it reads lower or is off scale completely, merely adjust the indicator to read 95% using one of the methods described above.

      2. Another way to check calibration uses table salt, a see-through container such as a Ziplock baggie, and a small shallow open container, like a bottle cap. Place a teaspoon or so of salt in the shallow container and add a few drops of water - just enough to get it wet. Remember, you don't want a salt water solution, just damp salt. Place the shallow container in the baggie along with the hygrometer. (Make sure the salt does not get on the hygrometer, this may damage it). Seal the baggie with some air trapped inside and let it sit for 6 to 8 hours. Check the hygrometer reading without opening up the baggie. It should read 75%. If not, remove the instrument from the baggie and adjust the reading to 75% with a small screwdriver.

To maintain accuracy of the instrument, it is advisable to recalibrate every six months. If you find the instrument to be consistently off and inaccurate, you may want to replace it.

  • Q:

how does one adjust the setting for the humidity measurement, the adjusting screw seems only to provide a stop
Asked on 12/10/2011 by Anonymous from charlotte n.c.

There is a slot on the bottom of the hygrometer that provides access to the calibration screw.

Answered on 12/13/2011 by Andy from Tech Support

The adjustment screw for the humidity is on the bottom of the gauge through the slot. Calibration can be performed by wrapping the gauge in a moist towel for a few hours and then calibrating the humidity to 95%.

  • Q:

How long is the cert good for?
Asked on 6/24/2009 by Greg from Clovis, Ca

    1 answer

The test certificate this model comes with does not have an expiration date. It is a certificate to state that the product passed testing criteria at the factory.
Calibration of this product is recommended for once a year. Part number for NIST-calibration is 17030-20. Please contact our customer service representatives if you need this calibrated.
