  • Q:

Can this hot plate be calibrated and certified?

      A:

The part number to have this unit calibrated is 17002-04.

The temperature displayed on hotplates in most cases is of the temperature sensor, which is usually located directly under the top plate. Therefore the temperature on the surface of the plate will not be the same as the temperature displayed. Any stated accuracy will be of the sensor and not the top plate.

This unit has an external temperature probe which can be used to control the temperature of the liquid of mixture you are heating. We can calibrate the hotplate probe so that when using the external probe the temperture will be verified accurate to NIST standards.
