    Backed-up sink and dump it right into the toilet for quick disposal. If there was a "liquid plumber" in use, no need to worry about an acid spill!

      A friend had this pump on hand when our jet ski sank. We used it to pump the water out. It took only three minutes and we were floating again. The last time this happened it took an hour with an electric siphon. I can't wait to get one!!

          No. The body and shaft of the pump are made of PVC, which is not recommended to use when dealing with Methylene Chloride

        I would be using this pump to transfer deionized water from a drum to a DC Stealth Watering System which is used for industrial battery maintenance. I don't see any issues, but thought I'd check to make sure.

          This pump is made of Solvent-welded PVC body and shaft and Viton valves and seals. PVC has an excellent rating with DI water, Satisfactory to 120°F (48°C). Viton also has an excellent rating with DI water, Satisfactory to 72°F (22°C).

          The manufacture does not have a maximum suction lift for this pump. This item is meant to be utilized with a drum/barrel with the tube sticking into your desired fluid. As per pumping water with sediment it would be dependent on what size sediment and how much. If you have any other questions please contact our technical support department.

          The wetted materials are PVC body and shaft and Viton valves and seals. The materials are compatible with 33% chromic acid, 18% sulfuric acid, and 20% HCL.           The pump will have the wetted materials made of the following: Solvent-welded PVC body and shaft; Viton® valves and seals

          Viton is rated as an A rating and PVC is rated a B for use with nitric acid. This should be fine for use with this but there will be some deterioration over time.

          Viton is rated as an A rating and PVC is rated a D for use with hydrochloric acid. I would not recommend this for more than a single use with hydrochloric acid. See 07079-90 for a better pump for your application.

          The short answer is no, but here is why. The wetted parts on this are Solvent-welded PVC body and shaft; Viton® valves and seals. The PVC will be compatible with the formic acid but not with lactic acid. The viton will be compatible with the lactic acid but not the formic acid. The all HDPE pump is chemically compatible, please see part number 06425-05 instead.

          We do not have compatibility for this specific chemical, but similar chemicals are showing that PVC would not be compatible.

          A:

          PVC will have a 'B'-rating with HCl; Viton will have an 'A'-rating. One will see minor degradation of the shaft when used with this acid. Rinsing with water after use will help prolong the life of the pump.

          This pump would not be recommended for use with 90% phosphoric acid. The body and shaft is made of PVC and is only rated as B rating with a concentration only up to 40% phosphoric acid.
