  • Q:

Which tube can be used for cell cryopreservation immersing it into liquid nitrogen?
Please write the cataloge number of this type of cryotube!

      A:

This tube cannot be immersed into liquid nitrogen. For safety reasons it is recommended to use the CryoFlex tubing (item 03755-64) for immersing tubes directly into liquid nitrogen. The concern is that liquid N2 can enter the vial, become entrapped, and cause an explosion when the tube is thawed and the nitrogen returns to its gaseous phase and expands.

      A:

There is no torque requirement as it has not been tested, but "hand tight" seems to be sufficient and is what we suggest.
