More About this Item

This high power ultrasonic cleaner is perfect for removing grease, dust or other contaminants from surfaces and cavities of small objects. Use this unit to clean cuvettes, lenses, glassware, stainless steel instruments, metals and more. Operation is simple – place objects directly into the stainless steel tank, or into the dipping basket (included), cover with the transparent lid and press “on”.

The 60-watt transducer generates thousands of minute cleansing bubbles that vibrate at a frequency of 42 kHz. This ultrasonic cleaner will not scratch the surface or harm objects like many chemical or abrasive cleansers. Choose from five pre-programmed timing cycles (90, 180, 280, 380, and 480 seconds) that show the remaining count down time on the large LED display. The cooling fan enables prolonged operation preventing overheating.

Comments about None High-Powered Compact Ultrasonic Cleaner, 42 kHz, 1 qt; 115 VAC:

I use this instrument to clean a glass lens used in a specially designed holder used in determining color values. This device is small, powerful, and is just the right tool for my application.

Can I clean spark plugs with this U/C?

        A:

I would not recommend putting spark plugs in this ultrasonic cleaner as you do not want to damage any of the electrical components with the cleaning solution.

    • Q:

I want to use this unit for ultrasonic mixing of a solute of low solubility. For the sonic waves to work, does the solution has to be poured directly into(be in contact with) the unit container or can I place it in a glass beaker inside the unit?
Asked on 9/5/2013 by Guillermo from New Orleans, LA

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

The solution will need to be placed in the tank of the cleaner. Placing the solution in a beaker will disrupt the ultrasonic waves and will not be as effective.

    • Q:

Will this product work with the lid off so that I can stir the contents while the unit is running?
Asked on 4/30/2013 by Stephen from United States

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

The lid does not need to be on to operate the cleaner. Depending on how full of liquid, and the product inside the bath, operating without the lid on may cause splashing.

Will an epoxy with a 600 centipoise viscosity be excited by the machine such that it might better penetrate a part that was dipped or will the viscosity dampen the frequency?

        A:

We do not have data to support or give any opinion on this question. The frequency ultrasonic cleaners put out is intended to clean and degas light fluids. We do not know what affect it would have on high viscosity liquids.

This cleaner does not have a heater. Part number 08890-11 is a similar ultrasonic cleaner with a heater.

We would like to sonicate particles in microtiter plate. Are the inner tank large dimensions enough to to accommodate a floating 96-well microtiter plate?

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

        The tanks dimensions are 7" x 5.5" x 2", which is large enough to fit a standard 96-well plate (approx 5" x 3.5" x 0.5")
