More About this Item

These accurate, low-cost flowmeters are perfect for fish farms and welding apparatus that need to regulate breathing-air and oxygen into processes. Flowmeters are made with high-impact resistant Lexan® hood and flow tube. Combined with a sturdy machined brass base, these meters will stand up to the rigors of field use. The durable, stainless steel stem valve ensures precise control throughout the full flow range, and povides for positive flow shut-off. O-ring seals eliminate the leaks that are commonly associated with plastic-base models. Meters are calibrated at 50 psig inlet pressure for accurate flow measurement under a variety of operating conditions.

    Hi, will this flow meter work at -40C? We will be sucking only ambient outdoor air through it. I don't see any low temperature limit on the spec sheet.

    does it have to have an outlet tube attached to get an accurate flow measurement or will it be accurate without?

      A:

      The inlet is on the back of this meter (not seen due to the angle of the picture), the outlet can be seen at the bottom.
      The inlet is a female threaded 1/8" NPT - so there is nothing protruding from the meter to see.
      The outlet is the 9/16 - 18" Male DISS thread. Part number 00268TI can be ordered to convert the 9/16 -18" male thread to a 3/16" hosebarb connection.

    Are there equations for converting the flow rate at different pressures? The meter says that it is compensated at 50 psi, but I'm not sure how to use that. If there is a way to convert, may I have that? Thank you!

      There is not an equation available. Compensated at 50psi means that the unit is calibrated and manufactured for the middle of its total psi range. As long as you use the meter between 0-100psi this unit will follow the accuracy as listed.
