The pH/conductivity/TDS 510 meter features pH auto-buffer recognition, selectable °F/°C, HOLD, and water-resistant membrane keypad. Previous calibration points, electrode slope and offset, and conductivity/TDS cell constants are stored in memory for quick and easy retrieval.

Meter includes: electrode holder arm and universal power supply

Meter with probes adds: 59001-70 double-junction pH electrode with BNC connector & 35608-50 conductivity/TDS/temperature probe.

    Comments about Oakton benchtop pH/conductivity/TDS meter with probes, 110/220 VAC:

    The pH and conductivity probe plugs do not fit into the connecting ports on the back of the meter as shipped. You have to cut off the plastic protective covers which, in my opinion, is a ridiculous oversight by someone at Oakton. There is plenty of room to space them apart so they can be easily connected with the plastic covers intact.

    Also, we've had problems calibrating for conductivity measurements.

    The pH probes work fine.

        A:

        Yes, any pH probe with a BNC connector will work with this unit. We offer several different conductivity probes that also work with this meter.

        A:

        1 mL would not be sufficient to fill the conductivity probe, and may or may not be enough to cover the pH probe. Generally, both probes are inserted into the sample container at the same time and at least 50 mL of sample is needed for that.

        A:

        The Ultem and epoxy body probes are not great for use with organics. For this reason we do have a glass body probe , please see part number 35608-52.

      Will this meter work with non-aqueous solutions with fluorides?

        A:

        There would not be an issue with the conductivity and TDS features of the meter. The pH can be affected by the fluorides. There are long term effects on the probe. An antimony or HF probe might be better suited. There also can be issues with stabilizing the reading but a protocol calling out a user specified time to record the reading can help alleviate that issue.

        A:

        Ultrapure water has a pH of 7 and conductivity ~1µS. This meter is capable of measuring these parameters. For low conductivity measurements use a conductivity probe with a cell constant of 0.1

        A:

        The Oakton 510 offers linear compensation with a user-definable temperature coefficient from 0 to 10%. Factory setting is 2.1%. You may also be interested in the newer Oakton equivalent to this meter, the 35413-00. The same ATC features would apply.

      I am wondering why after calibration of the pH meter and move from calibration mode to measurement mode, the pH meter does not read pH of the standard solution correctly. For instance, I calibrated the meter with pH 7.00, 10.00 and 12.45 solutions and then I measured the pH of 12.45 solution, the meter read it different than 12.45. Is this fine? Is there any wrong with the pH meter or electrode?

        Part number 55500-45 is a 3mm diameter micro pH electrode which can be used with this meter.
