Stomacher 400C Meeting the food safety and quality demands of today’s microbiologists.
Whatever method you use to enumerate and identify bacteria, yeasts and moulds in your laboratory, thorough reproducible homogenisation of the sample is the first and most critical step.
Numerous studies have demonstrated the Circulator enhancement as a positive benefit to pathogen testing procedures in traditional microbiology and PCR based techniques.
As the sample is crushed during operation, the patented curved shape of the Circulator paddles create a washing effect driving more organisms in suspension thereby providing a better homogenised sample for analysis.
The Stomacher® 400 Bag Range
Caters for both the Circulator bag (round-bottom) designed bags, and the Classic (square-bottomed) for the older square paddle designed Stomachers.

Q:What method would you suggest for calibrating a stomacher, specifically the Stomacher 80 Biomaster? Thank you.
A:Since they are blenders and not devices used to measure or analyze, stomachers don't really require much of a calibration. The only things that can be calibrated or checked for calibration are the timer and the speed. You can calibrate or check to be sure the time is accurate against a stopwatch and speed can be checked using an optical tachometer such as the EW-87702-00. Both of which are considered in spec if they are within 5%.
