More About this Item

The Cole-Parmer syringe pumps more than double the linear force available on other versions. This extra force makes the pump ideal for fluid delivery to reactors in chemical applications or for working with viscous fluids. The robust design of the syringe holder ensures the syringe is kept level during delivery of the fluid. It features two different types of clamping mechanisms to accomdate both smaller and larger syringes.

Both the programmable and standard pumps operate in both an infusion and withdrawal mode. The programmable version can be set to a specific sequence of operations. The simple keypad interface allows for quick set-up of the syringe pump. The pump will work with all types of syringes, however due to the higher force on the syringe we recommend stainless steel syringes. See our selection of stainless steel syringes at the right by selecting one of the catalog pages and locating the syringes at the bottom of the page.

    • Q:

Would a Cole-Parmer High Pressure Single-syringe Infusion Pump be able to pump liquids of a honey like viscosity at 10 to 30 ml/min?
Asked on 4/8/2015 by Richard from Oxnard, CA

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

Syringe pumps are meant to handle light/low viscosity fluids, so we do not suggest the use of this pump for your application. I would recommend going with a double-diaphragm or progressive cavity pump.

    • Q:

What is the largest syringe (outer diameter) this pump can accommodate? What does >100 lb of linear force mean? Are we closer to 101 lb or 150 lb?
Asked on 6/30/2014 by Andrew from United States

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

The maximum syringe diameter is 44.75mm. The pump can generate up to about 100 pounds of linear force. This is not the same as PSI (pounds per square inch) which is an area measurement. The moving pusher block has approx 5.5 inches of stroke This is a constant rate pump - it does not run in a constant pressure mode .

I need to pump a material that is 2000 cP at a rate of 1.6 grams/min. Can this pump deliver at these specs?

      Thanks

    • Q:

      Hello,
I looking for a system that will handle a high viscosity Silicone through a .031 OD needle, will this Model #74903-00 work in this area?
      Thank You Ted

        A:

There is a high probability it will work but it really depends on the actual viscosity and how quickly you are trying to pump the fluid. This pump has a linear force of 100lbs.
