More About this Item

No need to purchase both single- and dual-stage pumps! Dual-mode pumps offer a choice of high-vacuum (HV) mode or high-throughput (HT) mode in one pump. Pumps also feature three-position gas ballast control. Set the pump to HV mode with gas ballast off for use with electron microscopes or mass spectrometers; set it to HT mode with gas ballast fully open for use with gel dryers, vacuum ovens, or rotary evaporators.

Power cord and plug are included with the pump.

      No, this unit is not rated for hazardous environments. Item NCI 00315YS is the explosion proof version of this pump.

    Regarding use of this pump with a small vacuum drying oven: One application will have a small amount of Xylene vapor. Will this damage the pump? or Can you recommend an accessory or another pump system that would likely be a better choice?

      This pump does have components of silicone and nitrile which do not fare well with Xylene. However, if Xylene is present in only trace concentrations and the pump is used properly (i.e. the pump is purged and xylene not allowed to linger in the pump lines after use) this likely would not become a problem. The alternative would be to use a dry pump such as NCI 00151VF which is much more durable for wet applications. The down side is that the ultimate vacuum on dry pumps is not as low as would be on the 79303-00.
