More About this Item

This new proximity switch has single point alarming and switching - great for controlling bottle filling operations, dual containment pipes. It can "see" through plastic, glass, and fiberglass up to 1/2" wall thickness. The sensor detects liquids with a dielectric above 10 and dry material with a density above 10 lb/ft3.
Installation is easy - mount the switch on the outside of a plastic tank or in a metal tank using the mounting accessories (sold separately below). Install relay assembly 43205-65 to actuate pumps, valves, or alarms above 10 amps. Sensor is enclosed in a durable NEMA 4X ABS plasitc housing and includes a 7-ft cable.

      This switch must be powered via AC power in the range of 90 to 250 VAC. This unit can not be powered via DC power.

    What is the upper ambient temperature limit for this switch? How small diameter a glass vessel will it work with?

      A:

      This product is rated to 140 degrees F. The diameter of the actual sensor is about one inch, so a glass vessel that does not facilitate the entire sensing area being used will not work effectively.

    What is the output voltage range? Is it 0-5V DC: 0 volts when no proximity and 5 with proximity?

      A:

      This proximity switch is intended for use in level sensing applications. Specifically in applications where it is desireable that the sensor not come in contact with the substance you are measuring. When the fluid level trips the sensor, it closes the relay ( rated for 200mA at 250VAC).
