SHUR/Cut motorized microtomes incorporate the latest electronic technology to automate specimen advance or return and instantaneous switching between operator-selectable trimming and sectioning mode thicknesses while allowing the operator to focus on hand sectioning. All microtomes include a removable magnetic waste tray for easy cleaning. Exceptional stability in the motorized specimen arm ensures accuracy when working with your samples.
SHUR/Cut 4500 Fully Automatic Retracting Microtome is best for high throughput labs and engineered to provide superior accuracy, efficiency and precise sectioning. This microtome allows for continuous and single-stroke motorized cutting modes but operates in manual modes for specimens requiring a special touch. Repetitive hand motion functions are customizable and stored within the handpad controller for technician comfort and hands-free operation. Choose to actuate the motor via the included foot pedal— further frees up operator’s hands so they may guide and manipulate ribbons with ease. A readily accessible emergency stop button stops the motor drive when pushed. Unique specimen position-memory feature remembers a specimen’s extended position when removing a block to chill; the arm automatically returns to the original position with just a push of a button.
