More About this Item

Combination electrodes come with either a glass or epoxy body. Glass-body electrodes are ideals for laboratory use since they perform at higher temperatures and can be cleaned with common laboratory solvents. Epoxy-body electrodes are good for applications where rough handling and breakage are a problem. The electrodes have either refillable or sealed (gel-filled) references. All combination electrodes have a 3.3-ft (1-m) cable and BNC connector.

  • Q:

Is this type of probe compatible with wine samples containing sulfur or will there be an interaction with the Ag in the probe that would damage the bulb?

    1 answer

This electrode would be fine for that application without damage to the electrode.

  • Q:

Is a chemical compatibility list available for epoxy body pH electrodes? I am specifically interested in DMSO compatibility.
Asked on 6/3/2011 by Michael from Bothell, WA

We would not recommend using DMSO with an epoxy bodied electrode. We would actually recommend the DMSO to be used with a glass-bodied electrode instead. (part number 05718-55) Current pricing and availability are listed on our website for this part number.
