GE Kaye Ice Point and Uniform Temperature Reference

Obtaining high-accuracy measurements from thermocouples requires instrumentation designed to minimize errors. Thermocouple conformity, the cold junction and its reference, the A/D converter and other analog system electronics all contribute to the overall system error. While the cold junction (termination of thermocouple to copper) can contribute significantly to system error, this error can be minimized with a high accuracy temperature reference.

Uniform Temperature References

The GE Kaye Uniform Temperature References (UTRs) provide cold junction temperature measurement for up to 64 thermocouples with twice the accuracy of conventional models. This high level of accuracy is achieved through remove monitoring via a NIST-traceable RTD, which automatically performs compensation calculations. The UTRs are passive mechanical devices requiring no external power.

Ice Point References

GE Kaye's Ice Point References provide the highest level of accuracy in automatic referencing - zero long-term drift maintaining reference temperature at 0 °C. Ice Point References are available in rack-mount or portable configurations with capacity for up to 75 thermocouples.
