SNAP brains are I/O and communications processors that control analog, digital, or special-purpose I/O modules on the same compact SNAP B series mounting rack. SNAP Ethernet brains are compact, flexible, high-performance processors that connect real-world analog, digital, and serial devices with Ethernet networks for monitoring, control, and data acquisition. The SNAP-B3000-ENET works with analog, digital, and serial signals from real-world devices, while the SNAP-ENET-D64 Ethernet brain handles digital signals only. Both SNAP Ethernet brains feature pure TCP/IP transport protocol; a 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet connection; and multiple simultaneous protocols including Modbus/TCP, FTP, SNMP, and SMTP. Versions of the SNAP-B3000-ENET with a built-in realtime clock or 802.11 wireless LAN connectivity are also available.
Serial brains support both Optomux and Mistic protocols for easy integration into existing Optomux or Mistic installations. SNAP serial brains offer a variety of high-speed serial communications options and can be daisy-chained on a simple serial link over very long distances. The Mistic protocol provides seamless integration with Opto 22’s FactoryFloor software.
