A brick manufacturing company was using diaphragm pumps to pump pigment around bricks as part of a spraying/coating system. During this process, if the pigment is not continuously moving, it begins to settle and dry out. Because the diaphragm pumps were switched off during nonoperating hours or when the air compressors were shut down, the pigment dried causing blockages in the pumps.
