Bi-plate petri dishes are designed for use with automatic filling equipment. Dishes are constructed of crystal polystyrene with the injection point located on the side of the dish bottom to optimize clarity even by image analyzing systems.

Dishes are available in aseptic and sterile versions and feature cleanroom packaging with two outer bags and bar code label. Aseptic products are manufactured in a controlled environment, without human intervention during the manufacturing process. Sterile products are sterilized using an irradiation method compliant with the requirements of ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11137 to achieve (SAL 10⁻⁶).
