Grind virtually any sample that can be processed with a mortar and pestle with this new mortar grinder mill. Variable pressure on the pestle grinds samples between the bottom edge of the pestle and the rounded mortar wall. An adjustable scraper continuously guides material toward the grinding surface and away from the mortar walls, ensuring a homogeneously ground sample.

View and add samples through two plexiglas windows on the cover. Mill accepts particles up to 8 mm dia or from 10 to 150 mL in volume; grinds sample down to less than 35 µm. Use the ON/OFF switch for continuous operation or the built-in timer for timed operation up to 60 minutes. Longer grinding time leads to smaller final particle size. Safety features include a safety switch that shuts off the power to the grinder when the lid is open and an overload switch.

To minimize sample contamination, select a grinding set that is harder than the sample to be ground. Grinding sets are available in five different materials: porcelain, corundum, agate, chrome steel, and stainless steel (SS) — order separately.
